Esri Technical Certification exams recognize expertise in three domains: desktop, developer, and enterprise
use of ArcGIS. Certifications are offered at three levels: Entry, Associate, and Professional.
The ArcGIS Desktop Professional exam tests candidates experience utilizing a broad range of ArcGIS tools and functionality.
Qualified candidates should be able to apply GIS concepts and knowledge to define a project, establish workflows, processes, and methods to determine and apply the most appropriate ArcGIS for Desktop functionality to accomplish project objectives. Candidates should be skilled at problem solving non-routine issues, defining and successfully completing complex GIS projects.
A qualified candidate should be able to:
Apply and interpret fundamental spatial statistics and visualization techniques
Build a complex data set and a locator
Implement and apply Python scripting
Perform advanced vector and raster analysis
Perform fundamentals of geodatabase design and operate within a multi-user geodatabase
Perform surface modeling and analysis
Utilize advanced modeling techniques
Identify and resolve common workflows
Author a mosaic dataset and publish an image service
Demonstrate proficiency in application configuration
Determine and define an appropriate coordinate system
Using network analysis solvers
