THE HDPCD EXAM

The HDP Certified Developer (HDPCD) exam has three main categories of tasks that involve:
The exam is based on the Hortonworks Data Platform 2.4 installed and managed with Ambari 2.2, which includes Pig 0.15.0, Hive 1.2.1, Sqoop 1.4.6, and Flume 1.5.2. Each candidate will be given access to an HDP 2.4 cluster along with a list of tasks to be performed on that cluster.
To be fully prepared for the HDP Certified Developer exam, candidates should be able to complete all of the exam objectives.

the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP), including Pig, Hive, Sqoop
and Flume.

• Data analysis

Description of the Minimally Qualified Candidate
The Minimally Qualified Candidate (MQC) for this certification can
develop Hadoop applications for ingesting, transforming, and
analyzing data stored in Hadoop using the open-source tools of
the Hortonworks Data Platform, including Pig, Hive, Sqoop and
Flume. Those certified are recognized as having high level of skill
in Hadoop application development and have demonstrated that
knowledge by performing the objectives of the HDPCD exam on
a live HDP cluster.
Prerequisites
Candidates for the HPDCD exam should be able to perform each
of the tasks in the list on our website at

are also encouraged to attempt the practice exam.
